The Art Studio

This 600 sq ft art studio and gallery has been a very successful participant in the annual, county-wide, Studio Tour which occurs every September. The three-day event has become a popular Christmas shopping venue for art lovers and collectors around the state. With plenty of parking, an inviting entryway (handicap accessible) welcomes art buyers into the gallery section of the studio.
Sliding barn wood, barn doors to the right lead to the bathroom and laundry area which has a stacked washer and dryer and an extra large laundry sink and water softener. The walls on three sides have custom barn wood, display shelving.  Overhead spot lights highlight the art displayed.
The custom barn wood cabinetry provides a huge amount of storage space. There are various seating areas for visitors throughout including a coffee nook complete with its own barn wood cabinet and counter top with live-edge shelves above and a half-sized flush/inset fridge. There is also a 10’x10’ storage room not shown. The propane central heat unit is housed there.
The owner is an encaustic artist and uses multiple heated trays, pans and implements which require a heavier than normal amount of electrical power. Multiple extra circuits were added to supply sufficient power. To insure all electric implements are turned off upon leaving the studio there is a single, heavy duty switch that turns the power to the work area on or off. There is also a vent fan in one of the windows directly behind the work area with a wall switch next to the power switch. The heavy duty power supply makes this a perfect studio for any sculptor, glass artist, potter or ceramicist, etc.
The ‘working’ area of the art studio is at the back of the 40’ room and features a perfect ‘face-to-face’ student/teacher work area. The studio was designed to provide plenty of room for art student instruction, either one student at a time or twenty. This is the art studio that artists dream of!
