The Downstairs Apartment

The one bedroom/one bath basement apartment is accessible from the upstairs stairway or the walk-in outside doorway. With its private entrance, It’s ideal as a Mother-in-Law apartment, housekeeper quarters or a rental BnB. The front of the apartment, which is located next to the art studio, has its own sliding, barn wood, barn doors that opens to the living room. Some furniture in the apartment can stay.
This is a handicap accessible apartment. The floors are all painted concrete with custom concrete counter tops and custom barn wood cabinetry.  There is a vented microwave oven over the inset two burner glass stove top, which has a digital tab lock to prevent turning on accidentally. There is a good sized pantry and a bar with cabinets that separate the living room. Lots of storage space.
A short hall leads to a small room on the right that can be used as an office for working remotely or a very large closet. At the end of the hall is the bedroom with a queen sized bed. These last two rooms are used as a ‘safe room’ since they are at the far end of the house and completely underground. The basement rooms are painted with a mold/mildew repellant paint and have never had a mold or mildew problem.
