The Extras

A jetted, hot tub/spa located on the covered back porch is just steps away from the master bedroom. There is also a handicap ramp (not shown) just behind the spa that leads up onto the back porch (from the car port) and to all the three doors that lead to various parts of the house.  There’s a two foot high, raised kitchen-garden bed not far from the spa.
There’s a very large, fenced garden with a no-freeze well water spigot on the property over by the shop. Yes, there’s a good well and you have your choice of city water or well water inside the house as well.
The chicken house is called ‘the Martha Stewart Chicken House’!  It’s well insulated from top to bottom and has three windows with cage wire screens to prevent varmint entry. It also has a no-freeze well water spigot.  It’s often been mistaken for a small apartment. The wire surrounding the pen area is a special order, heavy duty, hardware cloth wire and is buried in concrete, 1-1/2’ into the ground.
And- there is Henry. A beautiful indigo peacock. He would prefer to stay in his home if the new owners would have him. He will do his best to rid the place of ticks and insects in return for a little bird seed/sunflower seed and dry kitty kibble every day. Henry will eat from your hand once he gets to know you but OUCH he pecks hard. He often goes into a ‘fanning frenzy’ and will fan a car, the trash can, a towel hanging on the porch rail, etc. He would probably like a female companion but he will fight another male peacock to the death. He enjoys the company of chickens and Guinea fowl but definitely not roosters or male Guineas.  Art patrons on the studio tour look forward to seeing Henry every year!
There are deer that would eat from your hand if they get to know you well enough. This one loves baby carrots, apple slices, potato chips and Worther’s caramel candies!
There’s a large 600 sq ft wood working shop with two attached buildings as well as a cargo container for storage. It has both an electric shop heater and window a/c unit as well as a wood burning stove.
A little extra income is always welcome and this small, one bedroom/one bath, 260 sq ft ‘tiny house’ has been rented ($425.00 mo) to the same retired school teacher for four years and she has never been a day late paying rent. It is HUD approved, extremely low maintenance and is located on the Eastern edge of the property and cannot be seen from the house. It has a separate driveway as well.
